Australia beat Pakistan by seven wickets to win the second Twenty20 international and go 1-0 up in the three-match series, the first T20I ended in draw due to rain.

Pakistan while batting first scored 150 runs with six wickets. Babar Azam scored his second consecutive half-century and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 62 runs. After Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat, opener Fakhar Zaman, desperately in need of runs, was left floundering against Pat Cummins and was out for two, driving to Warner at mid-off. Haris Sohail faced just nine balls and scored 6 runs.

Pakistan’s hopes were up when the explosive opener was clean bowled by Mohammad Amir for 20, missing a drive, and Finch fell for 17 to veteran seamer Mohammad Irfan. But with Smith at the wicket brought up his fourth 50 in the short format off 36 balls, with six fours and one big six, as Australia reached 151 for three with nine balls to spare.
