Erdogan vows to clear Syrian border area of Kurdish fighters if Russia fails to act

President Erdogan, on Saturday, said that Turkey will clear northeast Syria of Kurdish YPG militia if Russia does not fulfill its obligations under an accord that helped end a Turkish offensive in the region.

According to the deal signed by Turkish President Erdogan and Russian President Putin Russian military police and Syrian border guards are meant to clear the YPG fighters from within 30 km (19 miles) of the border over a period of six days ending on Tuesday.

Erdogan said in a statement that “If this area is not cleared from terrorists at the end of the 150 hours, then we will handle the situation by ourselves and will do all the cleansing work,”

Turkey considers YPG as a terrorist organization linked with Kurdish Insurgent and Turkey Launched Syrian Offensive against them after US pulled out it’s troops from the area.

President Alvi met Iranian counterpart in Baku

On the sidelines of 18th Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Baku on Friday, President Arif Alvi met Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

President Alvi said that Pakistan considers Iran as an important country as both countries share more than 900 km border. He said that both the countries need to fully utilize the trade potential to further enhance bilateral economic relations.

Naval Chief visits Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Navy installations

Nawaz Sharif’s platelet count has reached 22,000, Yasmin Rashid

Health Minister Punjab Yasmin Rashid informed media about health of Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on friday and said that his platelet count has reached 22,000 in fresh medical test reports.

The minister said, while talkoing to press conference, that Nawaz Sharif is suffering from blood pressure and heart disease. However, proper treatment is being given to him at Services Hospital.

She also expressed her best wishes for Nawaz Sharif and said that the government will accept the decision of court on the bail plea of Nawaz Sharif in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references against him.  

Pakistani Rupee up by 15 paisa against US Dollar in open market

During business on thursday, Pakistani rupee gained its strength by 15 paisa and hit Rs156.10 against the US dollar in the open market.

In the interbank market, the greenback fell 2 paisa to close at 155.88.

Price of Euro appreciated by Rs0.15 and was traded at Rs173.51 against the last closing of Rs173.36. UAE Dirham and Saudi Riyal remained stable at Rs42.44 and Rs41.56 respectively.

Japanese Yen remained stable and was traded at Rs1.43 whereas the increase of Rs0.51 was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound which was traded at Rs201.01 as compared to last closing of Rs200.50

Pakistan Stock exchange witnessed an upward trend

Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), on Thursday, witnessed an upward trend with the benchmark KSE-100 index gaining 322 points and hitting 33,762 points.

Stock Exchange also witnessed an upward and bullish trend on wednesday with KSE index gaining 240.73 points (0.73%) and closing at 33439.69 points.

A total of 116,944,630 shares were traded compared to the trade of 83,612,250 shares during the previous day, whereas the value of shares traded during the day stood at Rs3.590 billion compared to Rs3.188 billion during last trading day.
