North Waziristan gets its’ first passport office when Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed inaugurated passport office in Miranshah area of North Waziristan. He also promised to provide NADRA mobile vans and more passport offices in the area during his visit.
After the inauguration, the interior minister was briefed on issues faced by the area. He promised the provision of two mobile vans of NADRA, so that people in far-flung areas could also benefit from the facility. “We will be establishing passport offices in Angoor Adda and other areas of North Waziristan,” he said and added that locals would be recruited in the passport and NADRA offices besides also giving priority to women in the recruitment drive.
While talking to tribal elders of North Waziristan, Sheikh Rasheed said that people of the tribal areas have fought Pakistan’s war and the entire nation was proud of them. “I will personally ask the prime minister for the establishment of a medical university in the area,” he assured besides also supporting the holding of jirgas while terming them as the best alternate for provision of speedy justice.
The interior minister said that internet services have been provided to South Waziristan and in the ongoing year, people in North Waziristan would also be able to benefit from it. He assured the tribal elders, “We will be providing more funds for development in the area besides also simplifying the immigration process at the Pak-Afghan border”.
