Prime Minister Imran Khan Wednesday said the security forces of Pakistan made the country safe by rendering matchless sacrifices. He further said that dialogue over the national security is the need of the hour and its domain is very vast.
The premier addressed the first-ever Islamabad Security Dialogue – a two-day conference being held by the National Security Division – and said the national security was linked with only strengthening of the armed forces till date.
Imran Khan said, “No one talked about climate change six years ago. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) initiated the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Project and I am proud that the Billion Tree Tsunami Project is being acknowledged worldwide.
“Food security – like in the entire world – is a major problem of the country. No one thought about its challenges in the past. Pakistan exported four million tons of wheat for the first time. The predictions of all experts regarding production were proven wrong.
“Poverty is a big challenge for Pakistan and the incumbent regime is giving foremost priority to uplift the poor. China’s role in eliminating poverty is exemplary.
“Good relations with neighboring countries are a part of Pakistan’s foreign policy as we will benefit the most due to peace in the region. Advantage of geographical importance cannot be taken without regional peace. Pakistan is playing its part in Afghan peace and Biden administration also understands that war can continue no longer.
“Pakistan fully tried to improve relationships with India. New Delhi should give the right to self determination to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as it is better for both the countries.”
